Public Partnerships
"We make it
easier for consumers to create their own opportunities."
Public Partnerships, LLC (PPL) was established
in 1999 as an affiliate of Public Consulting Group (PCG), a
national management consulting firm. PCG provides consultation
and outsourcing to health and human services organizations
that improve their service quality, operations and fiscal performance.
PCG is based in Boston, Massachusetts and has over 600 employees
with offices in 24 states.
PPL was initially formed to provide assistance
to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's national pilot demonstrations
in Self-Determination. PPL staff have continued to participate
in RJW Foundation advisory committees on the Cash and Counseling
Program. We offer a rich array of fiscal intermediary and related
services to public agencies and participants
seeking to develop consumer directed services and supports.
Currently we serve more than 20,000 consumers in 14 states
and manage more than $200 million annually.
We serve:
- Persons with
developmental disabilities
- Children with serious emotional
disturbances and their families
- Adults and elders at risk of nursing
home placement
- Persons with tramatic brain injuries and
other chronic medical conditions
Our programs can be statewide, regional, or
county-based.
Since public agencies are increasingly faced
with the conflicting goals of providing more service flexibility
with heightened financial accountability, PPL has developed
proven systems to maximize both goals. We have used technology
to develop customized software and a national customer service
support network. We build each program to meet the needs of
each state while satisfying the most current CMS and IRS requirements
The staff
at PPL is dedicated to making fiscal intermediary services
comprehensive, convenient, and understandable for state and
local government agencies, program participants and their
families. Our underlying goal is to reassure participants
they don't need to be experts in accounting, payroll, taxation
and staff development in order to manage their own budgets,
supports and staff.
