The Arkansas Department of Human Services self-directed programs gives individuals and their families choice, control, and independence over their care and lives in the community.

Self-directed programs supported:

  • IndependentChoices (1915j State Plan Services)
  • ARChoices (1915c HCBS Waiver Services)

 

Clients or their Authorized Representative can

  • Work with a Support Broker to develop a Cash expenditure plan for their needs and goals
  • Hire, dismiss, schedule and supervise their providers
  • Monitor their spending whenever they want on the MyAccount™ platform
  • Use the MyAccount™ web portal to review providers' timesheets
  • Use the Time4Care™ mobile application to review and approve providers’ timesheets on the go
  • Manage service authorized hours to meet their assessed needs and goals
  • Select services and supports that are unique to their assessed needs

 

Who we serve

  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Individuals aged 65 and over ARChoices
  • Individuals aged 21 to 64 years with physical disabilities ARChoices
  • Individuals 18 years to under 21 years old IndependentChoices (this is the state plan personal care optional program)
  • Individuals 21 years and over IndependentChoices (This is the state plan personal care optional program; 64 personal care hours max)
  • Individuals eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare (dually eligible) ARChoices

 

Services

  • Payroll - PPL processes payroll for the providers using funds from the Client's allocated budget
  • Employment tax requirements - PPL handles all employment-related tax requirements for clients including federal, state, local, and unemployment taxes
  • Monthly budget management - We support clients in managing their allocated budgets
  • Enrollment support - We help you with client and provider enrollment and training through your Support Broker
  • Customer service - Our professional Customer Service Representatives are available 5 days a week to assist you
  • Service reports - PPL's services reports give clients an overview of the services they have received
