Overview

The Housing Payment Services program for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) Waiver Participants provides housing and utility subsidies to individuals throughout New York State. The program is supported by NY DOH staff, nine Regional Resource Development Centers (RRDC) and service coordinators.

Participants can receive

Rental subsidies and housing supports to TBI/NHTD waiver participants based on need for safe and secure housing Independent living skills training and development
Financial aid for housing and utility expenses and necessary funds for furniture
Moving expenses and security deposits

Services

Tax requirements - PPL issues 1099 year-end tax forms to landlords on behalf of the participant
Disburse rent, utility, and housing support payments - PPL disburses housing support payments to the participant's landlord using funds from the participant's allocated budget
