Overview
West Virginia Personal Options assists individuals with qualifying disabilities self-direct their care through the Medicaid Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Waiver. This program gives participants more choice and control over the care and services they receive.
Participants can
- Manage a budget for Participant-Directed Services
- Select, hire, schedule, and manage their own employees to assist with their activities of daily living
- Determine their employees' pay rates within federal and state limits
- Purchase goods and services to increase their independence at home and in the community
